Blooming Friday - Canna Leaves
Being the dork that I am, I really wanted to name this post, "Canna Leaf it Alone", but I decided to walk away and "leaf it alone"! So, sit back and enjoy the beautiful patterns of the Canna varieties that grace my garden.
You got lots of varieties of Canna in your garden! The texture of the leaves are interesting itself! I want to buy some canna lilies someday, but right now I am running out the partial shade space in my garden.
Dear Kimberly, What beautiful images of the Canna leaves. The detail when one looks closely is amazing. In Hungary they are used in every town and city as summer bedding making, as you may imagine, a spectacular show.
i love cannas also, unfortunately they don't seem to have that many varieties here in hawaii...i love the third photo, haven't seen the mostly white leaf version...what is the color of the flowers, dying to know :)
Wow, I have some canna seeds from another FL gardener friend, but haven't planted them yet. You have a stunning variety. I've never grown them before. Enjoy.
Your canna leaves are lovely. I only have green leaves - love all the variegated ones you have. Mine are just poking out of the ground. In fact they tried to earlier but got nipped again with the frost we had a week ago. Can't wait to see yours in bloom!
You're not a dork - you're a winner. Well, you didn't exactly guess correctly in last week's plant puzzler, but you got extra credit points anyway. Thanks for playing!
The leaf themself makes Canna a beautiful, colourful plant it seems. Wonder how striking they will be with flowers ! I never though of the leafs before :)
We do love the cannas and their flowers, but especially the foliage which adds so much to the garden. In the evening the back light is always stunning.
Kimberly - I LOVE the look & feel of your 'Garden In Paradise'. It says 'welcome in' as soon as you get here! I have plant envy - especially the Hibiscus and Canna's. (You may have noticed my tropicals attempt on an early blog when I went nuts on annuals on our deck..). I will visit often to get my 'tropicals' fix! -Shyrlene :)
I've seen more and more people adding Cannas to their gardens around here, although I'm pretty sure they must dig them up. You have so many pretty varieties in your garden.
Kimberly, I liked your "leaf it alone" title... texture and colored foliage are very favorites of mine. Your canna leaves are really pretty and varied.
I've ordered the Tropicana variety (first time for cannas for me) just for the leaves... I'll probably cut off the flowers... we'll see... don't hold me to it. Meems @ Hoe and Shovel
Hi Kimberly. What beautiful variegated leaves they have. Pretty even without the blooms. I do not have any soil to hard for them to grow well here but I love the looks of them. Have a wonderful weekend! Lona

Very colorful and tropical! Mine were destroyed in the Arctic Blast but are quickly returning from the dead.
Beautiful texture. Have a nice weekend!
I agree - the leaves are beautiful! And the flower too!

Nice cannas... my favorite is a really tall one that has burgundy leaves that are almost black. I think its called wyoming.
Fascinating!

Thank you for showing us that leaves can be beautiful too, not just flowers :^)
Well, hi! Edith Hope is a brand new bloggy friend. I'm glad you stopped by Willow Manor, dear fellow Hoosier.
Florida foliage always looks SO exotic to we northerners. Beautiful!
