I'm STILL officially on a bit
of a blogging HIATUS
but had a few moments to 'poke my head in'.
I've moved from my cherished "Garden in Paradise",
but will adjust to my new corner of paradise soon enough.
Moving is never easy, especially over the holidays,
in middle of the school year, etc.
I'm still in South Florida, though,
and would like to say I'm enjoying the lovely weather.
This photo was taken last winter.
HOWEVER...it's been COLD....AGAIN!
It's only December, meaning it's entirely too early
to start this type of frosty behavior. I can only imagine
what my northern friends are feeling right now...
near zero temperatures so early in the year
makes everyone shiver and fear
what may be just around the corner!
This was my car last January!
The tropical plants are not happy again this year...
hopefully the cold spell won't last as long as it did last year.
Even with all of the crazy activity going on in my life,
I was able to take in a Christmas parade
last weekend. Great fun!
No parade is complete without the antique fire trucks!
The Reason for the Season!
Florida Backyard Christmas!
Christmas, Florida style!
Enjoy the holiday season, everyone!!!

I will follow you to your new haunt. I could use that Florida weather right now. It is 23 degrees at noon. Brrr.
There is nothing like gardening to follow you where ever you go. Hope all goes well during the holidays and beyond.
Dear Kimberly ~ It is so good to hear from you. I didn't know what to make of your last post. Looking forward to hearing about your new piece of paradise.
Love and hugs to you and your family as you settle in to your new home this holiday season.

I didn't realize you've moved! I hope we get to see your new corner of paradise soon. I'm sorry it's frosty though, neither the garden, nor Lola appreciate that, I'm sure! The weather has been unreasonably and unseasonably cold here too. Stay warm!
GWGT, so glad to hear from you again. So sorry to hear it's 23 degrees. Not nice! It's only been in the 30s at night here in FL, although 50's in the afternoon in my neck of the woods...not too bad compared to 23.
TG, thank you so much for your well wishes! I'm looking forward to settling in and gardening again. I sincerely need the therapy! :D
FL, it's so great to hear from you too! I've honestly missed touching base with everyone! Your latest masterpiece is gorgeous! Thank you for your well wishes...I wish the same for you and yours!!
Clare, it's so great to hear from you! The move was a bit sudden but all is going well, albeit less organized than I prefer! The chill does not help either...I'm hoping it passes and does not return this winter. Hope you and your brood stay warm (I hope the males are behaving these days!) and enjoy the holidays!
Frost is good. Trust me, it grows on you.
You're moving??? How did I miss that? Well, moving sucks (even when you do it at a "slow" time) so best of luck with that. Are you staying down in your neck of the woods?
you are moving? - what about your lovely garden? do you get to take some of your plants with you? Look forward to updates and have a wonderful christmas!
Glad to see your beautiful posts again

So nice to hear from you again. I do hope you are able to enjoy gardening in your new piece of paradise soon. Your posts are missed but I eagerly anticipate watching a new "wildlife habitat" and "Florida friendly" garden take root and flourish.
Dear Kimberly,
So nice for you to pop in and let us know you're doing okay. I don't envy you moving this time of year but glad you were able to take some time to enjoy the season at a parade. Blessings, Meems
Kimberly - you have been missed! Great to see you jump into the Blogosphere, even if just for a few moments... I'll keep checking back in! (BTW - it was seven (7) degrees in Chicago-land this morning --- you weren't missing much, let me tell you!)
That last post was from 'me' -- Shyrlene; apparently I had a nervous twitch before I finished spelling my name..... must be the cold?
Just going through my blog roll, looking to see who I haven't heard from in awhile. Add me to the people who didn't realize you were moving! Anyway, just dropped in to say hi :)
Kimberly, glad to hear from you again. Wishing you Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2011!
Happy gardening in your new spot!! Will you be in the same zone? Sounds like an opportunity to explore new plants! :o)
Hi Kimberly, good luck in your new abode and with your new garden, which I'm sure you'll have - Happy New Year! Barbara
